Making a gallon of red wine from welch\’s grape juice concentrate – part 1 of 2

I decided to start making much smaller 1 gallon batches of wine so I could experiment more. For each gallon I should end up with 4 1/2 bottles of wine or so. This first batch is a red wine made from 4 cans of Welch’s Grape Juice Concentrate, and uses NO sugar in the recipe. I am hoping that using only juice and no sugar will give the wine a little more body than other recipes that use only 2 cans of concentrate and add 1 1/4 lbs of sugar. The recipe (also at end of video): 4 11.5oz cans of Welch’s Grape Juice Concentrate 82 oz of distilled water 1/2 tsp of bentonite clay (for clarifying) [optional] 1 tsp of yeast nutrient [optional] 1/2 tsp of pectic enzyme [optional] 1/2 packet of Lalvin EC-1118 champagne yeast It takes around 30 minutes to clean, sanitize and put everything together the first day. A week later racking the wine to a second container took about the same….

brewbeeranddrinkit.com In this video I share one of the most important aspects of brewing beer I discovered that literally changed dramatically the flavor of my beer. Most tips and tricks I had read about brought about improvements here and there that I could barely tell, but this one had the biggest impact. If you are learning how to brew beer, this alone will change the way you look at brewing… You will experience and see why home brew is often times better than commercial brew (including micro-breweries)… There are some very tasty micro brews out there, but understand that micro-breweries are trying to control cost and maximize efficiency with their grains, mashing, etc., often times at the expense of quality. Home brewers don’t have to worry about that as much, and if you do what I talk about in the video you’ll brew beer just as good as micro brewers and hopefully better… What is “this” I talk about in the video? Temperature control during fermentation……
